Practical Information

Here you can find all the practical information you may need. If you still have any questions, feel free to contact me by sending an email.

I usually paint on gallery wrapped cotton canvas with acrylic paints, inks, and different types of modelling pastes to create texture. I use a variety of brands for my supplies and explore different painting techniques utilizing the opaque quality of acrylic colours. I like how quickly it dries even when using different pouring methods which gives me ample opportunity to work towards an overall image I am happy with without having to wait for days to see what the finish might look like. Sometimes I also use floetrol to extend my paint for pouring.

I have a passion for taking care of our planet and incorporating eco friendly practices in my daily life as well as my business. simultaneously the contradiction of using a synthetic based paint for my artwork has not escaped my mind. But replacing acrylic paint has not been a successful attempt on my part due to variety of reasons including higher price of available substitutes, and incompatibility with my painting style. I am also averse to solvents for oil. So at the moment acrylics are my main material.

However, I have not given up. I’m still searching for options to align my business with my principles. In the meantime I have opted for filtering out the water  from the leftover paint and allowing it to dry into a sludge like substance before throwing them away. Those remains cannot be recycled in my area unfortunately, but at least it will not directly end up in the swage. I cut open my paint tubes to use every last bit of material available and preventing it from going to waste.

All the other equipment I work with like cups, pallets, towels and brushes are reusable and recyclable or made from compostable fibers.

I have also included the national delivery of the artwork in my company’s services. I want to treat the pieces respectfully and with reverence while avoiding the use of layers and layers of bubble wrap, tape, wooden boxes and more just to ensure its safe delivery. So with a little planning, I use the least possible amount of material, recyclable ones, to bring the work to the client’s doorstep and minimize the environmental impact of my art shipping activities. For international shipments, I have opted for rolling the artwork.

I continue to look for ways toward an increasingly more environmentally friendly creative process. I am putting this information here for the sake of both transparency to clients and holding myself accountable in pursuing a more ethical way of doing business. Every medium presents its own unique challenges, and sustainability is an on going trade off of options, and should be discussed openly.

The price of the artwork you see on this website is a function of material used, which usually makes bigger pieces more expensive, time spent creating, and my experience as an artist. I have valued these paintings relative to the local market price of similar artwork by artists with the same style, medium, and experience as mine.

For buyers inside the Netherlands, shipping costs and 9% VAT tariff is included in the price. For international buyers, custom and duty fees may be applied to shipments at the discretion of each receiving country. These extra charges are the responsibility of the buyers.
